Chocolate chip cookies
Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 2/3 c
- butter or margarine, softened - 2/3 c
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- brown sugar, packed - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- Gold Medal flour * - 3 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- 6 oz - 2 pkg
How to make chocolate chip cookies:
Heat oven to 375°. Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Blend in remaining ingredients. (For a softer, rounder cookie, add 1/2 cup flour.) Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet. Yields about 7 dozen.*If using self-rising flour, omit soda and salt.
