  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • evaporated milk - 1 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • chocolate chips - 1 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • white sugar - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate chip cookies:

Cream together shortening, sugars and eggs. Add milk, vanilla and dry ingredients; mix well. Chill 1/2 hour. Drop onto cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. These cookies stay soft.
