Chocolate chip cookies
Ingredients/Components
- soft shortening equal parts shortening and butter or margarine - 2/3 c
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- brown sugar, packed - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- pkg - 1 oz
How to make chocolate chip cookies:
Preheat oven to 375°. Mix shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla thoroughly. Measure flour by dip-level, pour method or by sifting. Blend soda and salt with flour. Mix in nuts and chocolate pieces. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet. Makes 4 to 5 dozen cookies.Note: I usually double this recipe.
