Chocolate chip cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• chopped nuts - 3/4 c
• flour
• brown sugar
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• chocolate chips
• boiling water
• shortening - 3/4 c
• dates, chopped - 8 oz

How to make chocolate chip cake:

Topping:1/4 c. brown sugar1 small pkg. chocolate chips3/4 c. chopped nuts Mix dates, baking soda and water together. Set aside to cool. Mix remaining ingredients together; add date mixture and mix well. Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan. Pour in batter. Mix topping ingredients together and sprinkle evenly over batter. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
