  • chocolate chips - 1/2 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • applesauce - 2 c
  • nuts if desired - 1 item

How to make chocolate chip applesauce cake:

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs and beat well. Stir in other ingredients. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes. Top with chocolate chips and/or nuts while warm.
