Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1/4 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- butter or oleo - 1 c
- plus 2 Tbsp - 1/4 c
- chopped pecans or walnuts - 1/2 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- Chocolate Candy Frosting - 1 item
- Combine water, butter and cocoa in a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly
How to make chocolate candy cake:
Combine flour, sugar and soda; mix well and set aside. Combine water, butter and cocoa in a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Gradually stir into flour mixture. Stir in buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. While warm, prick surface at one-inch intervals with a meat fork; spread Chocolate Candy Frosting.Chocolate Candy Frosting:1/2 c. butter or oleo1/4 c. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. evaporated milk1 (16 oz.) pkg. powdered sugar, sifted1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts Combine butter, milk and cocoa in a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar; return to a boil, stirring constantly. Immediately remove from heat.
