Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • cocoa - 5 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • cooking oil - 1 c
  • unbeaten eggs - 2 item
  • soda, dissolved in 1 c - 2 tsp

How to make chocolate cake:

Sift all dry ingredients together and add to the remaining ingredients. Mix and pour into 13 x 9-inch greased, floured pan. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.

Note: The batter will be thin. If I have a real ripe banana, I usually beat it into the batter.
