Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- stick oleo - 1 item
- toasted pecans - 1 c
- Boil boiling water, oleo, shortening and cocoa
How to make chocolate cake:
Sift sugar and flour together. Boil boiling water, oleo, shortening and cocoa. Bring to rolling boil and pour over sugar and flour. Mix well. Add eggs, buttermilk and soda, add vanilla just before mixing. Mix well and pour into 13 x 9 x 2-inch greased pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until done.Icing:6 Tbsp. milk1 stick oleo dash of salt3 Tbsp. cocoa1 box powdered sugar1 c. toasted pecans1 tsp. vanilla Bring milk, oleo, salt and cocoa to rolling boil.
