Chocolate butter cookies

Ingredients/Components

• butter, softened - 3/4 c
• sugar - 1/2 c
• flour
• almond extract - 1 tsp
• unsweetened cocoa - 1/4 c
• egg yolk - 1 item

How to make chocolate butter cookies:

Heat oven to 375°. In large bowl, mix all ingredients except flour and cocoa. Beat at medium speed for about 3 minutes. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls and flatten with a fork or bottom of a glass. Place 1-inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake 7 to 9 minutes. Allow to cool. Decorate with melted chocolate chips, nuts or colored sugars or maraschino cherries. Yields 3 dozen.
