Chili sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 1/4 c
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- pepper
- chopped celery - 3 c
- chopped onions - 2 c
- chopped green peppers - 1 c
- white vinegar - 1 c
- chopped, peeled tomatoes - 3 qt
- mixed pickling spices put in bag
How to make chili sauce:
Combine vegetables and let set overnight. Drain but do not press. Do not use juice that drains off. Mix all together. Boil and simmer 15 minutes. Remove spice bag. Put in jars. Process 10 minutes. I use pressure cooker at 10 pound pressure. Makes 5 1/2 pints.Recipe categories: Low protein, Condiments, etc., Main dish.
