Ingredients/Components
- basket tomatoes - 1 item
- bunch celery - 1 item
- onions - 1 doz
- green peppers - 1 doz
- large red pepper - 1 item
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- white vinegar - 2 c
- ground allspice - 6 tsp
How to make chili sauce:
Blanch tomatoes; peel. Add thoroughly chopped onions, celery and peppers. Add 1 cup sugar, salt, vinegar and allspice. Cook in a large kettle until tender on top of stove. Fill sterilized Mason jars 1/4 inch from lip. Process in water bath.Recipe categories: Low protein, Condiments, etc., Main dish.
