Ingredients/Components
- peck tomatoes - 1 item
- bunch celery - 1 item
- onions - 1 qt
- green peppers - 3 item
- red pepper - 1 item
- cinnamon sticks - 2 item
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- dry mustard - 2 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 2 lb
- salt - 1/2 c
- cider vinegar - 1 qt
How to make chili sauce:
Peel tomatoes and chop fine. Cook 15 minutes. Let stand and drain off half juice. Chop other vegetables and add to tomatoes. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Tie cinnamon sticks, mustard and cloves in a cloth bag. Add to vegetables with brown sugar, salt and vinegar. Cook for 1 1/2 hours, until vegetables are soft.
