Chili con carne
Ingredients/Components
- olive oil - 5 Tbsp
- large onions - 2 item
- cloves garlic - 4 item
- ground beef
- tomato sauce - 3 c
- water - 1 c
- celery seed - 3/4 tsp
- cayenne - 1/4 tsp
- ground cumin seed
- bay leaves - 2 item
- chili powder - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 3 tsp
- cans kidney beans - 2 oz
How to make chili con carne:
Heat oil in skillet. Add onion and garlic. Saute until golden. Add meat and brown. Transfer the meat mixture to a large saucepan and add remaining ingredients (except beans). Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until sauce is thick as desired (about 4 hours). Add 2 cans kidney beans before serving.
