- salt - 2 tsp
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chili powder - 1 2
- ground beef - 1 lb
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- cumin seed - 1 tsp
- canned tomatoes
- cooked pinto beans - 3 c
- garlic clove, finely chopped - 1 item
How to make chili con carne:
Fry meat and onion in shortening until browned. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer slowly for 1 hour. Makes 4 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, Chili.
