  • milk - 1/2 c
  • all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
  • large eggs - 5 item
  • Monterey Jack cheese - 1/2 lb
  • cans whole green chiles, drained - 3 oz

How to make chiles rellenos:

Preheat oven to 350°. Spray shallow 2-quart casserole or a 12 x 8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Discard seeds from chiles. Slice cheese into same number of pieces as there are chiles. Place 1 slice of cheese in middle of each whole chile. Arrange stuffed chiles in casserole.

In a bowl, with wire whisk or fork, beat eggs, flour and milk until blended. Pour egg mixture over stuffed chiles in casserole. Bake for 35 minutes or until top is golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean.
