Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 3/4 c
- egg yolks - 5 item
- oil
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- egg whites - 5 item
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
- lemon - 1 tsp
- cans cherries - 2 item
- Cream sugar, oil, egg yolks, water, vanilla and lemon together
How to make chiffon cake:
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Cream sugar, oil, egg yolks, water, vanilla and lemon together. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar stiff; fold in cake. Bake at 350° in tube pan for 35 to 50 minutes. You can tell by looking at it when done.Topping:1 c. milk1/8 Tbsp. flour1 c. shortening1 c. sugar1 Tbsp. vanilla2 cans cherries Cook all except cherries until thick; add cherries.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 4 hours.
