Ingredients/Components

  • boneless chicken breast, skin removed and cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes - 3 lb
  • scallions, thinly sliced - 1/2 c
  • cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
  • soy sauce - 1/2 c
  • lemon juice - 1/4 c
  • vegetable oil - 1/4 c
  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp

How to make chicken yakitori:

Combine all ingredients except chicken. Mix thoroughly; pour over chicken cubes. Marinate, covered. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.

Thread chicken on skewers; you can alternate 2-inch scallion pieces between chicken. Broil on rack in preheated broiler or out door grill over hot coals. Turn to cook on all sides. Cook each skewer 5 to 10 minutes or until done to taste.
