Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 c
  • flour
  • stick butter - 1/2 item
  • garlic salt - 1 item
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • spaghetti - 4 oz
  • sliced mushrooms
  • Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 lb
  • large chicken - 1 item
  • bell pepper, chopped optional - 1 item

How to make chicken tetrazzini:

Simmer chicken until done (save water). Cool and pick chicken from bones; cut into pieces.

Melt butter in a skillet. Add bell pepper and mushrooms; saute until tender over slow heat. Add flour to bell pepper and mushrooms. Stir in milk, cooking until very thick. Add most of the Cheddar cheese (save some for the top of the dish). Add soups. Sprinkle with garlic salt to taste. Stir well. Remove from burner and set aside.

Cook the spaghetti in the chicken water until tender. Drain and mix with the other ingredients. Put in a buttered casserole. Sprinkle remaining cheese over top. Cook at 325° for 30 minutes. Serves 6 to 8. Freezes well.
