Chicken rice soup
Ingredients/Components
- garlic salt - 1 Tbsp
- chopped celery - 1 c
- cans chicken broth - 3 item
- shredded Monterey Jack cheese - 1 c
- uncooked long grain rice - 1/2 item
- small chopped onion - 1 item
- chopped cilantro - 1/2 c
- large cans whole tomatoes - 3 item
- cut up carrots - 2 c
- chicken breasts skinless - 5 item
- can green chiles, cut up - 1 item
- bottle green chile jalapeno salsa - 1/2 item
How to make chicken rice soup:
Boil chicken in water in a large pot. Save chicken broth. Drain fat. Add cut up pieces of cooked chicken to large pot with cans of chicken broth. Add tomatoes, cilantro, celery, carrots and onion. Add garlic salt; stir. Add green chiles and green chile jalapeno salsa. Cover; let it simmer until vegetables are cooked. Add 1/2 cup rice.
