  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
  • margarine - 6 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chicken broth - 3 c
  • cubed cooked chicken - 3 c
  • pastry for 2-crust pie

How to make chicken pot pie:

Cook onion in butter until tender, but not brown. Blend in flour and salt. Add broth all at once. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add remaining ingredients. Heat until bubbly.

Line a large pie pan with one pie crust. Pour filling into pie crust. Top with the other pie crust, allowing enough overhang so that the edges can be crimped. Cut vents in the crust to allow the steam to escape. Bake in preheated 425° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until the crust is nicely browned.
