- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- broth - 3 c
- milk - 1 c
- diced chicken, cooked - 3 c
- can mixed vegetables, drained - 1 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- poultry seasoning - 1/4 tsp
- Add flour, stirring until smooth
- baking powder - 3/4 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- ice water - 3 Tbsp
How to make chicken pot pie:
Melt butter in a heavy Dutch oven. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add broth and milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Stir in next 5 ingredients.
