Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2/3 c
  • butter or margarine - 6 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 6 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chicken broth
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • celery - 1 item
  • onions - 1 item
  • pastry for 2 crusts
  • cooked chicken, torn up - 2 c

How to make chicken pie:

Cook chicken with onions, celery, salt and pepper. Melt butter or margarine in a pan. Add flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; stir and bring to a boil. Add chicken broth and milk; cook slowly until thickened. Add torn up chicken. Line pie plate with pastry. Pour chicken mixture into pan. Add top crust. Bake at 425° for 35 minutes.
