  • buttermilk
  • self-rising flour
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • fryer - 1 (2
  • stick melted margarine - 1 item
  • can undiluted cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • reserved broth - 2 c

How to make chicken pie:

Cook chicken until tender. Remove from bone. Reserve broth. In a saucepan, mix broth and soup and bring to a boil. In a bowl, combine margarine, pepper, flour and buttermilk. Pour broth over chicken in 9 x 12 x 2-inch pan. Spoon batter evenly on top. Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes, until crust is browned.
