Ingredients/Components
- large fryer - 1 item
- can cream soup - 1 item
- chicken broth from cooking chicken - 2 c
- or 4 stalks celery, chopped - 3 item
- hard-boiled eggs, chopped - 2 item
- frozen green peas - 1 c
- Drain, bone and cut up chicken; remove fat
- milk - 1 c
- melted margarine - 1/3 1/2
How to make chicken pie:
Cook fryer until tender in water with salt and pepper to season. Drain, bone and cut up chicken; remove fat. Put chicken, celery, eggs and peas in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Stir soup and broth together. Pour on chicken mixture; mix all together.Crust:1 c. self-rising flour1 c. milk1/3 to 1/2 c. melted margarine Mix well and spoon batter over chicken mixture.
