Chicken parmesan
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- stick margarine - 3/4 item
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- dried oregano, crushed - 1 tsp
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- onion salt - 1/4 tsp
- cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- Italian bread crumbs - 1 c
- boneless chicken breast halves - 8 item
- or 4 slices Mozzarella cheese - 3 item
How to make chicken parmesan:
Melt margarine in a 9 x 13-inch casserole. Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Dip chicken breasts in beaten eggs and then in crumb mixture. Place in casserole. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Turn over and bake another 20 minutes or until tender and done through.Meanwhile, combine tomato sauce, oregano, sugar and onion salt in a small saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring. When chicken is done, pour sauce over top. Place Mozzarella cheese on top and return to oven to melt cheese. I serve with spaghetti, salad and garlic bread.
