Chicken oregano
Ingredients/Components
- lemon juice - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- olive oil - 1/3 c
- crushed dried oregano - 3 tsp
- clove garlic, crushed or minced - 1 item
- frying or roasting chicken, cut up
How to make chicken oregano:
Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Arrange, skin side up, in one layer in a 3-quart baking dish (13 1/2 x 8 3/4 x 1 3/4-inch). Stir together the lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and oregano; spoon over chicken. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 400° oven for 30 minutes. Remove breast portions (they should be tender) and keep warm. Continue baking remaining chicken until it is golden and tender, 15 minutes longer.
