Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- flour - 1 item
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- large onion, finely chopped - 1 item
- can mushrooms - 1 item
- chicken breasts - 8 item
- can water chestnuts, sliced - 1 item
- can chicken soup - 1 item
- soup can water - 1 item
How to make chicken marengo:
Flour and lightly salt chicken. Brown in hot fat. Remove to flat casserole. Saute onion in butter. Add soup, water chestnuts and mushrooms. Pour over chicken. Cover tightly. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. Yields 8 servings.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Poultry.
