Chicken-fried steak with cream gravy
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 1/4 c
- large eggs - 2 item
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- instant chicken flavor bouillon - 1/2 tsp
- cream gravy - 1 item
- Place one piece between 2 sheets plastic wrap; using a rolling pin or meat pounder, pound to 1/4 inch thickness
How to make chicken-fried steak with cream gravy:
Cut steak crosswise into 4 pieces. Place one piece between 2 sheets plastic wrap; using a rolling pin or meat pounder, pound to 1/4 inch thickness. Repeat with remaining pieces. In a pie plate with remaining pieces. In a pie plate combine flour, salt and pepper. Dip each piece of steak first in egg mixture, then flour to coat. Shake gently to remove excess flour. In a skillet, melt margarine; add steak, 2 at a time. Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes on each side.Gravy:2 Tbsp. margarine2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour1 c. milk1/2 tsp. instant chicken flavor bouillon1/2 tsp. black pepper Melt margarine; stir in flour.
