- buttermilk - 1 item
- chicken - 1 item
- cans cream of chicken soup - 2 item
- slices bread, crumbled - 2 item
- self-rising corn meal - 2 c
- broth from chicken - 1 item
- grease - 3 Tbsp
How to make chicken dressing:
Boil chicken and cool enough to chip chicken off bone. Save chicken broth. Mix cornmeal, grease and enough buttermilk to make a batter (like a cake). Grease an iron frying pan. Pour batter into pan. Bake at 425° for about 25 minutes.Crumble corn bread into mixing pan. Add slices of crumbled bread, soup, broth (to desired consistency) and chipped chicken. Mix well. Bake bubbly for 5 to 10 minutes.
