Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- curry powder - 2 3
- finely chopped onion - 1/2 c
- sliced celery - 1 c
- diced cooked chicken - 2 c
- sliced mushrooms, drained - 1 can
- finely chopped pared apple - 1 c
- cold chicken broth - 3/4 c
- Hot cooked rice - 1 item
- Curry condiments - 1 item
How to make chicken curry:
In saucepan, melt butter; add apple, celery, onion, and garlic. Cook till onion is tender. Combine cornstarch, curry, salt, and broth. Stir into onion mixture; add milk. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles. Stir in chicken and mushrooms; heat through. Serve over hot cooked rice and pass curry condiments (raisins, shredded coconut, chopped peanuts, and chutney). Serves 6.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Curries.
