  • butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
  • slices Swiss cheese - 8 item
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • chicken breasts, boned and skinned - 8 item
  • slices boiled ham - 8 item
  • sheets frozen puff pastry - 2 item

How to make chicken cordon bleu:

Thaw pastry sheets about 20 minutes. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Saute in butter about 1 minute on each side. Drain, set aside to cool.

Unfold thawed pastry sheets. Cut pastry into 4 squares. On a lightly floured board, roll out each pastry square large enough to enclose chicken breast. Place chicken in center of each pastry square. Top with a slice of cheese and ham slice. Wrap pastry around chicken with ham and cheese. Pinch edges to seal. Bake on ungreased baking sheet, in preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes. Serves 8.
