Ingredients/Components
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- fryer, cut up - 1 item
- cans water - 2 item
- raw rice
- can mushroom soup - 1 item
How to make chicken casserole:
Pour rice in bottom of 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking dish. Combine soup and water; spoon over rice. Top with onion. Season chicken with salt and pepper and brown in skillet. Place chicken over rice, add drippings from skillet. Bake, covered, for 1 hour at 375°. (This recipe can be adapted for microwave oven by using a glass dish and reducing cooking time to 30 to 45 minutes.) Yields 5 to 6 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, Chicken breast.
