Chicken cacciatore
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- can tomato soup - 1 item
- large cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- oregano, crushed - 1 tsp
- chicken parts - 2 lb
- medium green pepper, cut into strips - 1/2 item
- Chianti or other dry red wine - 1/2 c
How to make chicken cacciatore:
In a skillet, brown chicken in shortening; pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients, except pepper. Cover; cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Add pepper. Cook 15 minutes more. Stir now and then. Makes 4 servings.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Casseroles.
