Chicken artichoke casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- flour - 1/2 c
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- m - 1 tsp
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
- can button mushrooms - 1 oz
- sharp Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/4 lb
- chicken, cooked, skinned and deboned - 1 (4
- bread crumbs or Rice Krispies - 1 c
- cans artichoke hearts, halved - 2 oz
How to make chicken artichoke casserole:
Melt butter or margarine and stir in flour, making a roux. Add milk and stir until thick and smooth. Add seasonings, garlic and cheese. Stir until cheese melts and mixture bubbles. Add mushrooms. Slice or cube chicken into bite-sized pieces and arrange in a 9 x 13-inch casserole. Top with artichokes and sauce. Mix crumbs or Rice Krispies and butter. Sprinkle over all.
