Ingredients/Components

  • whole chicken, boiled and deboned - 1 item
  • smoked pork sausage - 1 lb
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • red pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • bay leaves - 3 item
  • thyme - 1 tsp
  • can diced tomatoes - 1 item
  • worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • large onions, chopped - 3 item
  • minced garlic, equivalent to 4 cloves
  • uncooked rice, white or brown - 3 c

How to make chicken and sausage jambalaya:

In large pot, melt butter and saut?© onions until translucent. Add all seasonings, including worcestershire sauce. Cook another 2 minutes. Add sausage, chicken, rice, and diced tomatoes with 4 cups of water. Stir well. Cover and cook until rice is done. Rice will soak up most of liquid. If appears to be getting too dry before rice is done, just add more water.
