Ingredients/Components

  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • bay leaves - 3 item
  • rosemary - 1/4 tsp
  • large onion, quartered - 1 item
  • tsp thyme - 1/4 item
  • tsp oregano - 1/4 item
  • small fryer chicken - 1 item
  • carrots, cut in 2 -3 inch - 3 item
  • - 3 celery stalks, cut in 2-3 inch pieces - 2 item
  • cloves garlic, smashed and put in whole - 3 item
  • 8-10 oz

How to make chicken and noodles:

Wash chicken, remove excess fat, put on large pot and cover with water. Add al ingredients except noodles, cook until chicken is done. Remove chicken and vegetables, retaining liquid. (You may wish to dice carrots and return to pot for color.) Reduce heat to warm. When chicken cools, remove skin, fat and bones and shred chicken.

Cook noodles in the liquid the chicken was cooked in. When noodles become slightly el dente, add the chicken and continue cooking until noodles are done. May be served alone or over mashed potatoes.
