Ingredients/Components

  • milk
  • buttermilk - 1 item
  • stick butter - 1/2 item
  • self-rising flour - 3 c
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • chicken, cooked, deboned and skin removed - 3 4
  • oil or Crisco the size of a large egg - 4 Tbsp

How to make chicken and dumplings:

Cook chicken; debone and remove skin. To broth, add cream of chicken soup, butter and salt and pepper to taste. Mix flour with oil or Crisco. Add enough buttermilk to moisten and work up to a good rolling point. Roll out to about 1/4 inch thick.
