How to make chicken and dumplings:
Dumplings:2 c. flour1 Tbsp. salt1/2 tsp. soda3/4 c. buttermilk Chicken: Cut hen into serving pieces; place in large pot. Add celery, onions and salt. Cook on top of stove until chicken is tender. Always keep covered with water.Dumplings: Mix all ingredients well; knead and roll very thin. Cut into strips. Remove chicken from broth. Place dumplings into the broth. Cover; cook slowly for 20 minutes.
