Chicken and dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 4 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- cold water - 1 item
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- whole, cutup chicken - 1 item
How to make chicken and dumplings:
Dumplings: Sift flour in a large bowl. Add shortening and mix thoroughly. Add eggs and mix with flour. Add some cold water, a little at a time until dough becomes sticky. Roll out dough and cut noodles as desired.Chicken: Boil chicken in a large pot of water with margarine, salt and pepper until chicken is done. Take chicken out and separate meat from bones. Put chicken meat back in pot and bring back to boil. Add noodles one at a time and stir while adding. Turn stove on low and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir while simmering.
