  • vanilla extract - 1/4 tsp
  • semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1 c
  • powdered sugar
  • peanut butter - 1/2 c
  • 1/2 stick margarine or butter - 1/4 c
  • of your favorite Chex cereal - 9 c

How to make chex muddy buddies:

Pour cereal in a large bowl. Combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and margarine in a 1-quart microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on High 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until smooth, stirring after 1 minute. Stir in vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated. Pour cereal mixture into a large resealable plastic bag with powdered sugar; seal securely. Shake until all pieces are well coated. Spread on wax paper to cool. Makes 9 cups.
