Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • baking powder
  • sifted flour
  • melted shortening - 1 Tbsp
  • seeded cherries - 2 c
  • cherry juice or juice and water - 2 c

How to make cherry pudding cake:

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add milk and melted shortening. Stir until smooth. Spread in greased baking pan 12 x 8 x 2-inch. Spread cherries over batter then last mix 1/2 cup sugar, butter and cherry juice. Bring to boil and pour over cherries. Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes.
