  • milk - 3/4 c
  • vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • stick margarine - 1/2 item
  • coconut - 1/2 c
  • confectioners sugar - 2 c
  • almond extract - 1/2 tsp
  • margarine or butter - 1/3 c
  • shortening - 1 c
  • all-purpose flour
  • jar cherries - 1/2 item
  • jar maraschino cherries, chopped - 1/2 item
  • Add sugar

How to make cherry pound cake:

Cream shortening and margarine. Add sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and almond extracts. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Add flour alternately with milk. Fold in 1/2 jar of cherries Bake in tube pan at 350° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.Icing:3 oz. cream cheese1/2 stick margarine2 c. confectioners sugar1/2 jar cherries1 tsp. vanilla extract1/2 c. coconut1/2 c. chopped nuts Cream margarine and cream cheese. Add confectioners sugar and all other ingredients. Spread over a completely cooled cake.
