Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- coconut - 1/2 c
- confectioners sugar - 2 c
- large eggs - 6 item
- plain flour
- Crisco - 1 c
- stick margarine, melted - 1/2 item
- almond flavoring - 1 tsp
- jar chopped cherries - 1/2 item
- jar maraschino cherries, chopped fine - 1/2 oz
- Add flour alternately with milk
How to make cherry pound cake:
Cream Crisco, margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour alternately with milk. Fold in chopped cherries. Pour into tube pan and place in cold oven. Bake for 2 hours at 275°. Cool on rack about 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely. Mix together the following ingredients for Cherry Frosting and frost cold cake.Cherry Frosting:3 oz. cream cheese2 c. confectioners sugar1/2 stick margarine, melted1/2 jar chopped cherries1/2 c. coconut1/2 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. almond flavoring Mix all ingredients together.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Cherries.
