Cherry chocolate chip cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- baking soda
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1 c
- vegetable oil - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- jar maraschino cherries, minced save juice - 1 item
- small bag chocolate chips - 1 item
- Icing:1 stick butter
- powdered sugar - 3 c
How to make cherry chocolate chip cake:
Icing:1 stick butter2/3 c. Hershey's cocoa3 c. powdered sugar1/3 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla Heat oven to 350°. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil, vanilla and cherry juice. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Stir in boiling water. Add cherries and chocolate chips. Pour into two 9-inch round greased and floured pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pans and place on wire rack to cool.Icing: Melt butter. Stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk. Mix on medium speed until reaches spreading consistency. Add vanilla.
Note: If needed, add more milk.
