  • salt
  • garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano - 1/8 tsp
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • olive oil - 1 Tbsp
  • finely chopped onion - 3/4 c
  • small bay leaf - 1/2 item
  • thyme - 1/8 tsp
  • stuffed olives, sliced - 6 item
  • instant onion - 1 c
  • or 3 slices American cheese, cut in 1/2-inch strips - 2 item
  • can tomatoes rinse can using 1/2 c - 1 lb

How to make cherokee casserole:

Brown meat in olive oil; add onion and cook until tender. Stir in all other ingredients except 3 of the olives and the cheese. Use the ingredients in the order that they are listed. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and let simmer five minutes. Spoon into a baking dish and top with cheese. Broil until cheese melts and top with remaining olive slices. Double this if you want a large casserole as this only serves 6.
