Cheese-stuffed shells
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- grated Parmesan cheese - 3/4 c
- chopped parsley - 2 tsp
- eggs, slightly beaten - 3 item
- oregano, crushed - 3/4 tsp
- box jumbo shells - 1 item
- spaghetti sauce 32 oz - 4 c
- Ricotta cheese, or well-drained cottage cheese - 3 c
How to make cheese-stuffed shells:
Cook jumbo shells as directed. Drain and dry in a single layer. In bowl, combine cheeses with beaten eggs, salt, parsley, oregano and pepper. Fill shell with about 2 tablespoons cheese mixture. Spread some sauce in a thin layer in bottom of 9 x 12-inch baking dish. Place stuffed shells in single layer. Pour some sauce on top. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese, if desired. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until hot. Heat remaining sauce and serve with shells. Makes about 10 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Pasta shells.
