Ingredients/Components
- half and half
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- dairy sour cream - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- onion, chopped - 1/2 c
- chicken bouillon cubes - 4 item
- chopped chives - 2 Tbsp
- dried thyme - 1/2 tsp
- minced garlic clove - 1 item
- large bunch broccoli - 1 item
How to make cheese soup:
Cut flowerets from broccoli; peel the stems and dice. Combine broccoli flowerets, stems, onion, water, bouillon and garlic. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes or until broccoli is tender. Cool slightly.Puree broccoli mixture in 2 to 3 batches in a blender or food processor and set aside. Melt butter in a large pan over medium heat; cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add pepper and half and half. Cook until thickened, stirring about 2 minutes. Stir in broccoli puree and heat thoroughly. Serve.
