Cheese puffs



  • cream cheese - 2 (3
  • butter - 1 c
  • Monterey Jack cheese, shredded - 1/2 lb
  • egg whites, beaten - 4 item
  • loaf unsliced long loaf white bread no crust; can get this at bakery - 1 lb

How to make cheese puffs:

Melt butter and cheese over hot water; using a double boiler. Cut bread into 1-inch square cubes. When cheese is melted; stir to combine and fold in beaten egg whites. Dip bread cubes into cheese mixture. Place on tray covered with waxed paper. Place in freezer. When frozen, put in plastic bag to store. Makes 5 to 6 dozen.

To serve: Place cubes of bread on baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes, until puffs get browned. Serve and enjoy!!
