Ingredients/Components
- mayonnaise - 1 item
- grated Cheddar cheese - 3/4 c
- small onion, chopped - 1/2 item
- slices bacon - 4 item
- French bread loaf - 1 item
- wet or dry mustard - 1 tsp
How to make cheese canapes:
Brown bacon until crisp and crumble. Mix onion, mustard, Cheddar cheese and enough mayonnaise to make spreading consistency. Cut French bread into 1/2-inch thick slices. Spread mixture on slices and cut into 9 squares per slice. Place squares on cookie sheet and place under broiler for 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly.Note: You can substitute several slices of bread with the crusts off for the French bread.
