How to make cheese cake:

Filling:3 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla4 eggs1/4 tsp. salt Topping:1 pt. sour cream1/4 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla In a medium bowl, combine crust ingredients together. Press crumb mixture firmly on bottom of spring-form pan. Place in refrigerator.

Filling: Let cream cheese soften, blend in sugar and salt. Beat until fluffy; add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add vanilla; stir. Pour into pan with crust; bake at 350° for 50 minutes until firm in the center. Remove from oven and let stand 15 minutes.

Topping: Combine sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Spread on top of cake. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes; cool completely before removing sides of pan. Refrigerate. Just before serving, top with a can of cherry pie filling.
